Sambar is the integral part of many south indian kitchens. The main ingredient in sambar is Sambar pudi. In Karnataka it is called "Bele Saarina Pudi". Although there are many brands of sambar pudi available in the market ,they are not at all equal to the Home made Sambar pudi.

Few of the ingredients used in our Home made Bele Saarina Pudi are Coriander seeds,red chillies,toor dal,chana dal,cumin seeds,methi seeds,pepper, etc. All these ingredients are slowly roasted in low flame until nice aroma comes. 

Cook about 150gms of toordal.Boil all the required vegetables along with onions and tomatoes.Add about 3 table spoons of thick tamarind pulp.Add 1.5 spoons of our Home made Bele Saarina Pudi.At last do the seasoning and enjoy the authentic taste of  Sambar.
